Stay Strong this Winter: Five Floor Exercises for Aerialists + Free Mini Home Workout

December can feel like a whirlwind of travel, family, and transition as we head to the new year. This is the time of year that you're most likely to get thrown from your routines, and this can be understandably stressful! It's during this holiday time that it's crucial to adapt to the changes and find ways to keep your energy up.


Today I want to share five floor exercises and a mini workout you can make from them if you don't have consistent access to an apparatus this month. These movements will help maintain your strength, mobility, and aerial readiness—all from the comfort of your home.

Exercise 2: Twisted C-Body Scissors: The subtle body position in this makes it really powerful!



Exercise 3: Active Straddles with Blocks: To make these easier, position the blocks closer to your hips. For more challenge, move them toward your feet.



Exercise 4: Hip Rotations & Extensions: These are incredible for hip mobility, glute strength, and can even help target microbends!



Exercise 5: Cozy Sock Pikes for Core and Compression Strength

This is a holiday favorite for aerial strength!



Your Winter Mini-Workout

Here’s how to turn these exercises into a quick, efficient workout:

  1. Standing C-Shapes with Twists: 5 side bend to twist + 5 twists per side x3

  2. Twisted C-Body Scissors: 8 reps per side.

  3. Active Straddles with Blocks: 3 sets x10 reps.

  4. Hip Rotations & Extensions: 10 rotations each direction, per leg.

  5. Cozy Sock Pikes: 3x5-10 reps.

Repeat this circuit 2-3 times for a a supercharged session that keeps you strong, energized, and mobile through the holiday season!
